We are seeking a detailed oriented bilingual Front Desk/Optometric Technician to join our vibrant healthcare team. As the first point of contact, you will create a welcoming environment while supporting clinical operations, medical record management, and optical services. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage patient intake processes, including verifying insurance, updating medical records, and filing claims
- Perform preliminary tests
- Assisting in eyewear selection and lenses
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems), and other platforms, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Conduct basic medical coding and billing tasks related to ophthalmic services and patient visits
- Ensure office is clean and sterilize for patients
Skills
- Strong knowledge of patient care principles within a clinical setting, especially in optometry
- Proficiency in HIPAA compliance to safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality
- Optical experience or familiarity with ophthalmic equipment is highly desirable
- Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology related to eye health, and clinic workflows
- Experience with EMR systems such as Crystal or similar platforms for documentation and scheduling
- Background in retail sales or retail math can be advantageous for optical sales responsibilities
- Knowledge of medical billing, coding processes, and insurance claims handling in a healthcare setting
