Job Overview
We are seeking a detailed oriented bilingual Front Desk/Optometric Technician to join our vibrant healthcare team. This role combines exceptional patient care with technical expertise in optometry, ensuring a seamless experience for patients from start to finish. As the first point of contact, you will create a welcoming environment while supporting clinical operations, medical record management, and optical services. Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage patient intake processes, including verifying insurance, updating medical records, and filing claims
  • Perform preliminary tests
  • Assisting in eyewear selection and lenses
  • Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems), and other platforms, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Conduct basic medical coding and billing tasks related to ophthalmic services and patient visits
  • Ensure office is clean and sterilize for patients

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of patient care principles within a clinical setting, especially in optometry
  • Proficiency in HIPAA compliance to safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Optical experience or familiarity with ophthalmic equipment is highly desirable
  • Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology related to eye health, and clinic workflows
  • Experience with EMR systems such as Crystal or similar platforms for documentation and scheduling
  • Background in retail sales or retail math can be advantageous for optical sales responsibilities
  • Knowledge of medical billing, coding processes, and insurance claims handling in a healthcare setting
