Job Title: Facilities Technician

Position Level: Hourly

Rate: $30-$35 per hour

Purpose of the Role

The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing minor repairs and routine maintenance at assigned restaurants, ensuring each location remains safe, functional, and visually appealing. This role supports compliance with all state and federal accessibility standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair multiple restaurant locations in the Charlotte area and surrounding regions.
  • Complete all repairs and scheduled maintenance to meet brand standards.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, including after-hours situations, to address unsafe or hazardous conditions.
  • Conduct periodic maintenance assessments to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling repairs, tracking work orders, maintaining van & storage inventory, and overseeing warehouse supplies.
  • Process work orders submitted by restaurant teams, prioritizing and scheduling visits in collaboration with Operations and the Facilities Leader.
  • Track inventory of tools, parts and supplies ensuring accurate coding to accounts payable.
  • Record completed repairs and maintain precise documentation within the facility tracking system.
  • Continuously develop technical skills to expand capabilities in maintaining restaurant assets.
  • Communicate effectively with the Facilities Leader and Operations team to prioritize urgent repairs and maintenance needs
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures and training, use Personal Protective Equipment and ensure a safe work environment by identifying and correcting safety hazards.

Working Relationships

Regularly interacts with:

  • Operations: Restaurant General Managers (RGM), Area Coaches, Team Members
  • Development: Development, Architects, Construction Managers
  • Finance Department

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position does not supervise any exempt or non-exempt employees.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required. Formal trade training, restaurant equipment certifications, or HVAC/mechanical/refrigeration certifications are a plus but not mandatory. Restaurant equipment certifications and some HVAC/mechanical, refrigeration experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on maintenance experience preferably in quick service restaurants or commercial kitchen repair. Demonstrated ability to repair and maintain facilities. Proficiency in operating power tools, HVAC, and other powered equipment

· Technical Skills: Wide experience performing a variety of restaurant equipment, electrical, plumbing and building repairs.

  • Personal Skills: Ability to plan and prioritize tasks independently, maintain productivity without direct supervision, and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication. Strong attention to detail and time management.
  • Customer Service: Strong orientation toward customer service and problem-solving, with urgency in resolving issues.
  • Learning & Growth: Curiosity and willingness to learn new skills and broaden technical competencies.
  • Computer Skills: Basic proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and inventory control systems.
  • Other Requirements: Valid driver's license with a good driving record, will need to pass a Motor Vehicle Report every 6 months; ability to pass a criminal background check; physical capability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and stand for up to 8 hours. Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to back of house, roof, etc
