Interim Assistant HS Principal Spring 2026School Summary: TEC Connections Academy Commonwealth Virtual School (TECCA) is a tuition-free virtual public school district that employs over 240 faculty and staff, serving our diverse population of approximately 3,000 students in Grades K12 from cities and towns across Massachusetts. Position and Responsibilities: The Interim High School Assistant Principal will be responsible for the following: Demonstrates high expectations and an unwavering belief that all students can and will achieve at high levels.Supports meaningful and productive high school leadership meetings.Is an active and engaging member of the Learning Leadership Team.Plans, attends, and participate in school events Work collaboratively with other high school faculty and staff to ensure that all students are successfully progressing through the curriculum in meaningful ways. Consults with other faculty, staff, and learning specialists to develop alternate enrichment activities and modifications to students programs to increase student engagement and academic achievement.Plans and facilitates monthly school assemblies for the high school. Supervises and evaluates High School faculty and staff as assigned by the High School PrincipalOther duties as assigned by the HS PrincipalAssists school teams with curriculum alignment, prioritizing work on passing rates with focus on Algebra I and World Literature as starting points.Revamp of credit recovery English courses by adding custom assessments Focus on preparation for competency determinationsContinuation of NEASC accreditation work.Assist teachers in developing and maintaining effective and engaging teaching methods in a virtual environmentDevelop innovative engagement strategies, preventative approaches, and proactive plans for students who exhibit at-risk behaviors or a lack of engagement in schoolHelps plan and implement school-based professional development as appropriateAnd other school/district-wide duties as needed.
