A Japanese-based logistics company near the Portland Airport is currently expanding its Portland team this year. The company is expanding into domestic cargo, so the ideal candidate has previous experience in trucking.
This position is an on-site in office position from Monday to Friday (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM).
This is approximately a 6-month temp-to-hired contract to start before you become directly hired. After you complete the 3-month probation period, you will be able to join our group insurance (Medical / Dental / Vision) if needed. There is no PTO available during the 6-month contract period.
The hourly wage for the first 6-months will be $21/HR.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the movement of various international shipments/cargo to ensure smooth operations
- Schedule, track, and monitor all incoming and outgoing cargo, and resolve any issues that may arise
- Inventory management of products
- Analyze new costs in transportation and prepare quotes for invoicing
- Prepare and process all required domestic and/or international documents
- Support other departments
- Other duties as assigned by managers
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, International Business, Asian Studies, or any related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong skill in using Excel
- Additional Asian language (Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, etc.) ability is a plus
- Knowledge of logistic procedures is beneficial
- Ability to multitask and accurate in data entry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
