As a Senior Backend Engineer
, you would lead technology selection and architecture design, while also mentoring junior members to raise the technical capabilities of the entire team. Engineering Managers are responsible for people management (like setting team members' goals and evaluations), so as a pure technical leader, you will be able to focus 100% on technical decision-making, and still have a direct impact on the product and the culture of the dev organization.

This is a great opportunity for a senior engineer who's interested in gaining more tech lead experience while remaining hands-on, or who's interested in gaining knowledge of AI products.

What responsibilities would you have?

• Design, development, and maintenance of high-quality, high-performance software applications and systems.
• Develop and implement creative and effective solutions to complex technical challenges (performance improvement, technical debt reduction, etc.)
• Lead discussions on technical design, architecture, and long-term system strategy, and in collaboration with product managers, designers, business owners, and other stakeholders.
• Guide and mentor junior engineers, as well as improve coding maintainability via code reviews.

What kind of experience are we looking for?

• 4+ Years Experience developing cloud-based applications, especially for Enterprise SaaS.
• 2+ Years Experience mentoring junior engineers.
• 1+ Years Experience using Python, as well as at least one other backend programming language(s).
• Business Level English and Japanese (Recommended equivalent JLPT N2 and TOEIC 800.)
