Duties
- Assist residents and clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and nutrition to promote independence and dignity.
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; document findings accurately using electronic health record (EHR) system
- Administer medications and treatments following physician orders while adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Support specialized care needs such as hospice, with patience and professionalism.
- Perform medical procedures including catheter care, wound dressing changes, and assisting with medical equipment like EMR systems or oxygen supplies.
- Maintain detailed medical records and ensure all documentation complies with healthcare privacy laws.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to report patient status changes promptly and assist in emergency response situations.
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication administration protocols.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such for accurate medical documentation.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals who have developmental disabilities or require specialized care.
- Excellent communication skills to interact compassionately with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
- Experience working with people with disabilities or in acute care settings is highly desirable.
