Position Description

Position Title: Custodian/Maintenance

Position Type: Part time

Schedule: Monday - Friday (5:30pm – 9:30pm).

Agency Summary: The ARK of St. Sabina is a community center dedicated to enhancing the talents, lives, and spirits of community youth through education, mentoring, and linkages to resources. The ARK offers a vast array of opportunities and programs for youth and young adults ages 6-24. The ARK serves between youth on a daily basis in West Englewood, Auburn-Gresham and Englewood communities at no cost to them and their families.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

· Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep and mop floors.

· Empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers.

· Replace light bulbs and refill restroom dispensers.

· Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, programs, and special events.

· Buff gym and activity room floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.

· Minor repairs should be done upon request, using necessary power and hand tools.

· Lock and unlock the building; lock activity rooms when not in use; report any unauthorized occupants and turn off lights.

· Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed.

· Move furniture, supplies, and equipment upon request.

· Wash accessible interior and exterior windows. Clean blinds and dust mops.

· Exercises discretion in identifying projects that require the services of a higher skilled crafts person.

· Candidate will be required to work in the evening and weekends when scheduled.

· Other duties as assigned.

Experience/Education:

· High School Diploma/GED required.

· Candidate must demonstrate the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities described

· Include work experience in the areas listed above.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Must be a positive role model for youth participants and have respect for others.

· Must demonstrate ability to multi-task and solve problems effectively.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $ $20.00 per hour
