We're hiring an IT Systems Administrator to Live. Work. Explore. in Columbia Falls, Montana
Job Summary:
Join our IT team at Glacier and play a key role in supporting the technology that keeps our operations running smoothly. As an IT Systems Administrator, you'll provide hands‑on support for hardware, software, networks, and essential systems used across the property. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is ready to contribute to meaningful, property‑wide IT initiatives.
The Details:
Position Type: Full-time, year-round with a 8-week furlough period
Start Date: early-February 2026
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays). On-Call rotation during operating season.
Housing: Employee housing is not available

Responsibilities:
- Support, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, POS systems, and peripheral equipment across the property.
- Monitor and maintain logs, records, and system performance details.
- Act as Technical Advisor on Duty when needed and assist with escalated technical issues.
- Assist other IT Technicians with decisions on proper "corrective-action" procedures during problem situations.
- Install, configure, and maintain PCs and required software.
- Assist leadership in maintaining stable, secure network operations.
- Support day‑to‑day operations of the computer facility and help desk.
- Support security audits and help maintain compliance standards.
- Develop or update operational reports using internal reporting tools (as requested).
- Cover the Help Desk when needed.
- Collaborate with the Xanterra Incident Response Team when needed.
- Assist with maintenance or troubleshooting of servers, SANs, Cisco appliances, and other infrastructure components.
- Participate in server patching and related system update processes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned—flexibility and teamwork are key.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of Information Technology fundamentals and administrative processes.
- Ability to provide supportive leadership and clear technical guidance.
- Solid analytical skills and the ability to plan and execute complex IT projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems and desktop software (required).
- Familiarity with IT security practices and compliance requirements.
- Competence in Microsoft Office and documentation tools.
- Experience with enterprise systems is a plus, especially:
- Infor CloudSuite
- Raymark Retail Systems
- Simphony Food & Beverage Systems
- Opera PMS
- NEC PBX/Telephone Systems
- Cable/TV systems
- General hardware troubleshooting
Experience:
- Previous IT experience required.
- MCSE certification preferred.
- Experience with PCI compliance is a plus.
- Equivalent experience may be considered in place of formal education.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Hospitality Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Physical Requirements include:
- Position requires a valid U.S. Driver's License and be at least 21 years of age.
- Requires regular standing, bending, lifting up to 100 lbs., and navigating a fast‑paced environment.
- Requires strong attention to detail, focus, and ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
