Job Description:
Teacher
Teachers are responsible first to the Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction and ultimately to the Director, or in their absence, to the CDC Charge Person.
Teachers are responsible for Teacher Assistants, classroom children, and parents.
Preferred Qualifications
· 2-year degree in Early Childhood Education or higher
· Training in early childhood education and/or previous working with children in a developmental program.
· Personal qualities: professional, organized, caring and accepting
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain prompt hours; notify Director in event of illness
Maintain neat and clean appearance
Ensures a safe and healthy facility
Directs all activities of the classroom and assumes the leadership role in providing a conductive educational climate in the classroom
Is concerned and involved in all services, which contribute to the full development of the child
Performs educational work involving instruction of the children and reports to parents
Contributes specialized skills in Early Childhood Education
Responsible for keeping necessary records, reports, and evaluations concerning children
Work with all other staff members in a cooperative manner
Attend staff meetings; report problems of child or room management to the Director promptly
Attend in-service training whenever possible. Keep current in developments in the field of Early Childhood Education
Follow personal policies of Lord of Life
Assist in other classrooms assigned
Practice confidentiality regarding: providing discretion to individual children and their families, the business of Lord of Life and each other
Communicate by writing "What we did today" daily, newsletter monthly
Participate and attend parent events and fundraisers
Classroom Responsibilities
Provide planning and execution of appropriate early childhood education experiences with a variety of materials in the fields of art, music, language, science, mathematics, physical and sensory etc.
Promote and supervise activities which promote the healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of each child
Provide and maintain a neat and organized classroom; take responsibility for upkeep of all equipment and all materials. Disinfect equipment daily
Eat all meals with children and assist in the development of good nutritional habits
Help children establish good habits of toileting and personal hygiene
Maintain records of progress of each child's growth and development
Work with parents whenever possible to promote understanding. Encourage parent participation in school programs
Supervise all activities to ensure safety of each child at all times
Conference with parents at least once per year, or as needed/by request
Screen and assess children at scheduled intervals
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $ $18.50 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
