Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires strong knowledge of medical office operations, EMR systems, and healthcare documentation, ensuring smooth clinic workflow and accurate recordkeeping. The Medical Receptionist will play a vital role in maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and supporting overall clinic operations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally at the front desk, managing multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette.
  • Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures accurately.
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including intake documentation review and data entry into electronic health records (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks or Dentrix.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding health information management.
  • Assist with medical office management tasks such as filing, documentation review, and maintaining office supplies.
  • Support clinical staff by providing administrative support related to care plans and medical documentation.
  • Utilize computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite for various clerical tasks such as typing reports, filing documents, and data entry.
  • Perform insurance verification and billing follow-up to ensure timely payments.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate excellent customer service skills to enhance patient experience.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role; clinic or dental office experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical billing procedures including CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), Medicare processes, and insurance verification.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology across various specialties such as general medicine or dental terminology.
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong phone etiquette; bilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), typing (10 key), and familiarity with multi-line phone systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and recordkeeping accuracy.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.50 per hour
