Duties

• Supervise and coordinate daily janitorial activities across multiple areas, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces
• Train and mentor janitorial staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and equipment use
• Schedule cleaning routines such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and floor care including buffing and polishing
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure adherence to cleanliness standards and identify areas for improvement
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; place orders as needed to maintain operational efficiency
• Oversee specialized custodial tasks such as industrial cleaning, floor care treatments, or residential painting projects when applicable
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations to create a secure work environment
• Collaborate with facilities maintenance teams to address repairs or maintenance issues promptly

Qualifications

• Proven experience in janitorial services or custodial work within commercial or industrial settings
• Strong background in cleaning techniques including floor care, buffing, and general sanitation practices
• Previous supervisory or porter experience leading a team of custodians or janitorial staff
• Knowledge of facilities maintenance procedures and basic repair skills
• Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers or industrial vacuums safely and effectively
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
• Strong communication skills to lead teams and coordinate with other departments
