Kaufman Dolowich, recognized by U.S. News in their list of "Best Companies to Work For - Law Firms," is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented HR Assistant to join our Human Resources team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various HR functions and contribute to the overall success of the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day HR operations and serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries
  • Maintain and update HRIS records, personnel files, and organizational charts
  • Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits
  • Process semi-monthly payroll, timekeeping audits, and managing attendance records
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, including paperwork and system access
  • Track and maintain data related to leaves of absence, performance evaluations, and training
  • Provide administrative support for performance reviews and other HR programs
  • Reconcile benefit statements with all providers
  • Assist with planning employee events, wellness initiatives, and internal communications
  • Create monthly newsletters and birthday/anniversary announcements
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and firm policies
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including calendar management, reporting, filing, and data entry
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the department and firm

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in an HR support role, preferably in a legal or professional services environment
  • Payroll processing experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS systems preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

Base Salary Range: $50,000 - $65,000

Please note that the stated salary range is an estimate and does not guarantee a specific offer. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, as well as the candidate's experience, skills, and job-related qualifications. Base salary represents just one component of the comprehensive Total Rewards package offered by Kaufman Dolowich, which also includes a discretionary bonus program and a robust benefits offering for full-time employees.
