Flex Front Desk Agent (Hotel) – Weekend & Shift Coverage

Location: Blackshear, GA

Pay Range: $10–$13 per hour (based on experience)

Position Summary

The Flex Front Desk Agent supports hotel operations by covering shifts related to call-outs, vacations, and periods of increased staffing need. This is an as-needed position with no guaranteed hours. Shift availability depends entirely on operational needs.

Flex employees receive full training across all front desk shifts and are scheduled only when coverage is required.

Scheduling and Hours

  • Shifts are offered only as operational needs arise
  • Employees may accept or decline shifts without consequence
  • No guaranteed minimum hours
  • No on-call requirements and no on-call pay
  • Shifts may include days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
  • Weekend availability is strongly preferred
  • All shifts are 4 - 8 hours in length

Pay and Employment Classification

  • Hourly rate: $10–$13 per hour, based on experience
  • Paid only for hours worked
  • Employment is at-will, in accordance with Georgia law

Training and Orientation

  • Paid hotel orientation is required upon hire
  • Employees must complete a short-term, structured training period to ensure readiness for front desk operations
  • Training includes exposure to all three shifts and required systems

After training is completed, shifts will be offered only as operational needs arise.

Communication Expectations

  • Flex employees are expected to respond to reasonable attempts by hotel management regarding shift availability, scheduling needs, or required training coordination
  • Responding to communication does not require accepting a shift
  • Communication does not imply availability, standby status, or guaranteed work
  • Employees are not required to remain available when not scheduled

Maintaining professional communication is a condition of continued employment in this flex role.

Shift Responsibilities

Flex employees are trained to work all three shifts. While duties vary slightly by shift, each shift includes front desk responsibilities, guest service, and hotel-wide laundry duties.

Morning Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM

  • Guest check-outs and front desk operations
  • Reservation management and guest assistance
  • Breakfast service oversight, including setup, restocking, cleanliness, and guest support
  • Phone handling and administrative tasks
  • Laundry for the entire hotel (washing, drying, folding, and restocking)
  • Coordination with housekeeping and management

Evening Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

  • Guest check-ins and front desk operations
  • Handling walk-ins, guest concerns, and phone inquiries
  • Cash handling and shift documentation
  • Preparing the front desk for overnight operations
  • Laundry for the entire hotel (washing, drying, folding, and restocking)
  • Maintaining a clean and organized front desk area

Overnight Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM

  • Overnight front desk coverage
  • Night audit procedures and system reporting
  • Late check-ins and early check-outs
  • Monitoring property activity and guest safety
  • Laundry for the entire hotel (washing, drying, folding, and restocking)
  • Preparing reports and front desk materials for the morning shift

Qualifications

  • Customer service experience preferred (hospitality or retail a plus)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work independently
  • Comfortable with variable, as-needed scheduling
  • Ability to stand, sit, and use a computer for extended periods
