Delivery Driver

Fonte Coffee Roaster is one of the original Seattle coffee roasters located in Seattle, Washington, United States. A pioneer of the third-wave coffee scene, operating both Fonte Coffee bars and Uptown Espresso bars throughout the Seattle area.

We service our own and other local cafes with fresh roasted coffee, and ship roasted coffee to hotels and cafes around the nation.

JOB OVERVIEW: We are seeking a reliable and experienced Delivery Driver to join our team. As a Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and products to various locations in a timely and efficient manner. If you have a valid driver's license, excellent driving skills, and enjoy providing exceptional customer service, we would love to hear from you.

DELIVERY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Safely and efficiently operate a delivery vehicle to transport goods to designated locations
• Load and unload products from the vehicle using appropriate equipment
• Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries
• Provide exceptional customer service by delivering products with a friendly and professional attitude
• Verify the accuracy of delivery orders before departure
• Maintain delivery records and obtain necessary signatures or proof of delivery
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the delivery vehicle
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance as needed
• Prepare packaging for daily orders

WAREHOUSE:

• Package coffee, tea and herbs to Fonte standards.
• Grind coffee to Fonte standards.
• Pack coffee, tea & related items in preparation for shipping.
• Assist in loading freight carriers as needed.
• Pack coffee, tea and related items for delivery or shipment.
• Arrange for freight pickups, complete necessary paperwork.
• Assist in loading/unloading freight carriers.
• Receive incoming freight, complete necessary paperwork.
• Store coffee, tea and related merchandise in warehouse.
• Maintain an adequate supply of shipping materials as directed by Warehouse Manager
• Plan an efficient delivery route for orders to be delivered.
• Load deliveries in company van according to Fonte standards.
• Deliver coffee, tea and related merchandise to Fonte customers using a company vehicle & completing necessary paperwork.
• Interact with Fonte customers, and team members in a friendly, courteous manner.
• Monitor the condition of the company vehicle regularly informing plant manager on its condition.
• Clean and maintain production and roasting equipment on a daily basis.
• Clean and maintain warehouse and production areas.
• Clean and maintain tasting room and kitchen areas.
• Secure warehouse at the close of business

EXPERIENCE:

• Previous experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role preferred
• Knowledge of local roads, routes, and traffic patterns
• Ability to handle heavy lifting and physical demands of the job
• Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members
• Familiarity with warehouse operations is a plus
• Experience operating forklifts or other equipment is an asset

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Good English language skills
• Rudimentary addition and subtraction skills
• Rudimentary computer skills
• Valid driver's license

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Show up on time and ready to work
• Ability to lift 50 pounds multiple times throughout the day
