Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist/Toolmaker to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, modifying, and maintaining precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and machine components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, CAD/CAM software, and manufacturing principles to ensure high-quality production standards. Candidates should possess excellent mechanical knowledge and proficiency with various machining equipment and measurement instruments to support our company's commitment to precision engineering.

Duties

  • Operate CNC lathes, milling machines, and other machining equipment to produce precision parts and tools.
  • Program CNC machines utilizing CAM software and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD and Fusion for designing tooling components and fixtures.
  • Perform CNC programming tasks including GDT (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) for accurate manufacturing.
  • Conduct electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes for complex part fabrication.
  • Fabricate parts using hand tools and fabrication equipment to meet specifications.
  • Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, schematics, and assembly instructions.
  • Assist in the setup and calibration of machinery for production runs.
  • Support tooling development for plastics injection molding and other manufacturing processes.
  • Follow safety protocols related to machining operations and fabrication activities.

Skills

  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and Fusion experience with CAM programming is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming for lathe and milling machines; experience with CNC lathe, CNC milling machine, stamping press preferred.
  • Familiarity with GD&T standards to ensure precise measurements and quality control.
  • Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques.
  • Knowledge of plastics injection molding processes and tooling development.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of schematics, blueprints, math skills related to machining tolerances, and the use of precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and schematics related to manufacturing components.
  • Experience working with stamping presses or other specialized manufacturing equipment is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on precision machining and tooling fabrication within a manufacturing environment. Pay: $ $30.00 per hour
