Pioneer Power Group, a trusted leader in power system studies, is seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused
Power Systems Engineer
to join our talented team.

This is a
hands-on, high-visibility
role with direct client interaction. Ideal for individuals who thrive on problem-solving in a fast-paced environment and want to see the real-world impact of their work.

This is a
remote position
based in the United States. If you are near the Pittsburgh, PA market, you will be in office at least 2 out of 5 workdays a week.

Specific Responsibilities will include:

  • Perform engineering studies for electrical distribution systems. This includes
    short-circuit studies, coordination studies, arc flash hazard analyses
    ,
    load flow analyses and motor starting studies.
  • Evaluate protective device ratings, develop time-current coordination plots to optimize overcurrent settings for circuit breakers and/or relays, and calculate incident energy levels at equipment locations.
  • Provide recommendations to improve system reliability and/or help end users work more safely.
  • Review specifications, customer drawings, and technical proposals.
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding project status, results, and future needs.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to help scale and improve the delivery of our solutions.
  • Contribute individually and as part of a team to
    nationwide power system study projects
    .

Targeted candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in an electrical engineering role.
  • Experience or academic exposure to power system studies (load flow, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash).
  • Proficiency with any of the following software: SKM Systems Analysis/eTap/EasyPower
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter mindset: organized, dependable, and eager to learn.
