Special Orders Packaging- 1st Shift

JOB SUMMARY:

Prepares shipments for customers wanting particular orders.  Fulfills job responsibilities according to applicable work instructions.

DUTIES:

1. Receives orders from Sales Department; recognizes the need for special labeling, packing and top priority.  Coordinate labeling and packing with Label Department.

1. Determines if inventory is sufficient to ship order; advises Supervisor if stock is not fresh, if stock is short, or if the order will be overweight.
2. Labels all skids according to the quantity and type of battery; weighs all skids; stretch wraps all skids to complete order.
3. Responsible for final quality check before shipping to customer (dirty batteries, leaking batteries and/or old stock must not be shipped).
4. Receives individual shipping instructions from the shipping department; places order in rack or directly load commercial or company carrier as necessary.

1. Assists SLI Repairman with general repair duties.
2. Is responsible for:

• Understanding and following policies, procedures and instructions
• Identifying and reporting product, process and quality system non-conformities to lead personnel
• Controlling nonconforming products
• Supporting implementation of corrective/preventive and improvement actions

1. Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives.
2. Perform weekly and monthly inventories.

 ACCOUNTABILITY:  Reports to the Fremont Warehouse & Distribution Manager or Distribution Operations Supervisor.

COMPETENCIES:

• Understanding of battery styles, sizes and quality requirements.  
• Basic Computer Skills

 EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or 1 year manufacturing experience
• Forklift license
• Safety training
• HAZMAT

 DESIRABLE TRAITS:   Understand the importance of teamwork, accuracy and timeliness.  Must be able to work independently with little guidance.
