Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Pre-K Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This is for a Forest Preschool, so all instruction will be outdoors. This is for his role is ideal for individuals passionate about fostering young children's development and learning in a nurturing environment. The successful candidate will support classroom activities, assist with lesson planning, and contribute to creating an engaging and inclusive educational experience for preschoolers. Experience with children, early childhood education, and classroom management are essential, along with a strong understanding of childhood development and special education needs.

Duties

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy education, math, and behavior management strategies.
  • Support classroom management to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children, including toddlers and children with disabilities or autism.
  • Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote social-emotional development, literacy skills, and early numeracy.
  • Help organize and prepare educational materials and classroom supplies to facilitate smooth lesson delivery.
  • Monitor and document children's progress, behaviors, and developmental milestones to inform instructional strategies.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff through effective communication skills.
  • Support special needs children by adapting activities to meet individual needs and working closely with specialists when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom environment in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities related to childhood education, Montessori methods, or working with children with disabilities.

Experience

  • Prior experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development principles, curriculum development, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies is essential.
  • Experience working with children who have autism or other special needs is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Montessori methods or toddler care practices is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and specialists are required.
  • Previous experience in literacy education, math instruction for preschoolers, or working within inclusive classrooms will be beneficial. Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 per week
