Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant with a minimum of 3 years of experience to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that all patients receive the attention and support they need. This position also includes front office duties, requiring excellent communication and organizational skills.

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required. Fluency in additional languages is highly beneficial and preferred, as we strive to provide inclusive and effective care to our diverse patient community.

Responsibilities

  • Assist healthcare providers in performing examinations.
  • Greet and check in patients in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments using EMR system (Nextgen).
  • Answer phones and relay messages to appropriate staff.
  • verify insurance and collect copays or patient balances.
  • Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories.
  • Administer basic life support as needed and ensure patient safety at all times.
  • Document patient information accurately, including coding for billing purposes.
  • Support hospital medicine practices by coordinating patient care and follow-up.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
  • Provide exceptional patient service, addressing any questions or concerns with empathy and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to ensure efficient operations within the emergency medicine department.

Requirements

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Proficient in taking vital signs and performing basic life support techniques.
  • Familiarity with X-ray procedures and hospital medicine practices is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of medical coding practices for accurate documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service.
  • A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to healthcare regulations.
