The proper use of PPE is non-negotiable. This position involves significant lifting and maneuvering of palletized goods, often weighing several hundred pounds. A strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management is beneficial. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Safely load and unload trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Perform routine pre-operation checks and basic maintenance on forklifts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including the strict use of PPE.
- Inspect loads for stability and proper securing.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts as needed.
- Follow all logistics guidelines to ensure efficient material flow.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Operate other material handling equipment as required.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to perform tasks involving lifting, pushing, and pulling of heavy items.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and procedures.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE at all times.
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced logistics setting.
- Reliable attendance and work ethic.
