Our Boston, Massachusetts location is seeking an organized and efficient Shipping Clerk to manage our outbound shipments. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all products are accurately documented, packaged, and dispatched in a timely manner. You will be responsible for verifying order details, preparing shipping documents, coordinating with various carriers, and maintaining accurate shipping records. A keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and a dedication to Safety are essential. Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy in contents and documentation.
- Verify shipment details against customer orders and packing slips.
- Generate shipping labels and prepare all necessary paperwork for carriers.
- Coordinate with shipping companies for pickups and deliveries, negotiating rates when applicable.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks, to move shipments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area.
- Ensure strict adherence to all Safety regulations and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Conduct cycle counts and assist with inventory management as needed.
- Address and resolve any shipping discrepancies or customer issues promptly.
- Contribute ideas for improving shipping processes and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certifications are a plus.
- Previous experience in a shipping clerk or logistics role is required.
- Ability to handle tasks requiring manual dexterity and moderate Lifting, up to 45 pounds.
- Proficiency with shipping software, computers, and common office applications.
- Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Understanding of Logistics principles and supply chain operations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to all procedures.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
