We are hiring a motivated Shipping Clerk for our Grand Rapids, Michigan facility! In this critical role, you will be the central point for ensuring that all outbound shipments are accurately processed, documented, and dispatched efficiently. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be essential to maintaining the smooth flow of goods through our logistics network. You'll work closely with carriers, verify shipment contents, prepare necessary paperwork, and ensure that all shipments meet regulatory and company standards. If you have experience in shipping, logistics, or a similar role and are looking for a stable, rewarding opportunity, this is the position for you. Responsibilities:
- Receive and log incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by accurately picking, packing, and labeling items.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Generate shipping labels and ensure all required documentation is accurate and complete.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified).
- Maintain organized shipping and receiving areas.
- Enforce all Safety regulations and ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with stocktaking processes.
- Resolve any shipping-related discrepancies or customer inquiries.
- Contribute to process improvements within the shipping department to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a shipping, receiving, or logistics role is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform tasks involving frequent Lifting, up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and standard office equipment.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Shipping and Logistics procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to upholding workplace Safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
