Our Chicago, Illinois facility is seeking a skilled Warehouse Technician to ensure the optimal functioning and maintenance of our warehouse equipment and infrastructure. This role is critical for maintaining operational efficiency and Safety within our logistics hub. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring all machinery operates at peak performance. A strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and preventative maintenance is essential. You will play a key role in minimizing downtime and ensuring a secure and productive work environment for our team. Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on warehouse equipment, including forklifts, conveyor systems, and automated machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with warehouse equipment.
- Conduct safety inspections to ensure all equipment meets regulatory standards and company policies.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Ensure proper inventory of spare parts and supplies for maintenance tasks.
- Operate in compliance with all Safety protocols and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Respond to equipment malfunctions and provide timely repairs to minimize operational disruptions.
- Assist with the installation and setup of new equipment.
- Implement and improve maintenance procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Support general warehouse operations and provide technical assistance as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in mechanics, electrical, or a related field is a strong asset.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a variety of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of Safety procedures in an industrial environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
- Must be capable of occasional Lifting of up to 60 pounds and performing physically demanding tasks.
- Familiarity with Logistics operations and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
