We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Los Angeles, California. This role is crucial for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurately processed, packed, and dispatched efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency within the warehouse environment. You will be responsible for verifying shipment contents, preparing shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate shipping records. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to grow within the logistics industry, working with a team dedicated to excellence in supply chain operations.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and log incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Verify accuracy of shipping orders against packed items.
- Prepare and affix shipping labels and any necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Operate hand trucks, forklifts, or other equipment to move materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any shipping discrepancies or issues.
- Contribute to process improvements within the shipping department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or shipping environment is preferred.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring significant manual dexterity and physical exertion, including frequent Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier websites is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Understanding of logistics principles and warehouse operations.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to all company policies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
