We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator for our facility in Huntsville, Alabama. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials, loading and unloading trucks, and transporting inventory within our warehouse. Your expertise in operating forklifts is crucial for maintaining the flow of goods and ensuring the organized storage of products. This role requires precision, adherence to safety protocols, and a strong understanding of warehouse logistics. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up) safely and efficiently to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, containers, and trailers.
- Transport inventory to and from designated storage areas.
- Stack and organize materials according to warehouse layout and safety standards.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Assist with receiving, put-away, and order picking processes as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including strict compliance with PPE requirements.
- Participate in inventory control activities and maintain accurate records.
- Keep the work area clean and free of obstructions.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of warehouse logistics operations.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with a valid certification. Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 70 pounds. Requires ability to stand, walk, and operate machinery for extended periods. Strong understanding of warehouse safety principles and best practices, including the importance of PPE. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Familiarity with warehouse management systems and logistics operations is beneficial. Must be reliable and possess a strong work ethic.
