We are seeking a diligent Receiving Clerk for our bustling Los Angeles, California warehouse. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy, quality, and proper documentation. Your attention to detail is paramount as you verify deliveries against purchase orders, inspect goods for damage, and accurately record received items into our system. This is a key position within our logistics chain, contributing to the overall efficiency and accuracy of our inventory management.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming freight against purchase orders and shipping documents.
- Inspect all incoming goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Accurately record received items into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Tag and label incoming inventory appropriately.
- Report any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate personnel immediately.
- Organize and stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of required PPE.
- Assist with inventory control tasks as needed.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a related warehouse/logistics role is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and data entry. Experience with WMS is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and inspection.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and wearing required PPE.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform tasks related to receiving operations.
