We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team in Baltimore, Maryland. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, stack, load, and unload a variety of materials and products. Your primary focus will be on ensuring accurate inventory placement and maintaining a secure work environment. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, including performing equipment checks and adhering to all company regulations and the proper use of PPE. You will play a vital role in our daily logistics operations, supporting the timely movement of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach) to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and accurately, ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Stack and store inventory in designated racking systems and floor locations.
- Conduct routine pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Pick and stage orders according to pick tickets and shipping schedules.
- Assist with inventory counts and help maintain accurate stock records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, free from hazards.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure smooth workflow and efficient logistics.
- Support other warehouse operational needs as required.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable forklift operating experience in a warehouse setting is required. Must possess a valid forklift certification. Proven ability to perform heavy Lifting, typically up to 60 pounds. Excellent knowledge of warehouse safety standards and procedures. Familiarity with inventory control systems and logistics operations is a plus. Strong spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and consistently prioritizing safety. Experience with other material handling equipment is advantageous.
