We are seeking a diligent and organized Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics team in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. Your duties will include conducting regular cycle counts and physical inventories, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and ensuring that inventory records are up-to-date in our Warehouse Management System (WMS). You will identify and manage stock locations, perform quality checks on incoming and outgoing goods, and assist in optimizing inventory storage and flow. Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment is essential, and you must adhere to all company safety policies, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). This position requires strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. The role may involve some lifting of items up to 30 lbs and requires the ability to operate material handling equipment. Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory counts.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Identify, track, and manage stock rotation and aging inventory.
- Perform quality inspections on received and shipped goods.
- Optimize warehouse layout for efficient inventory storage and retrieval.
- Assist in implementing and improving inventory control procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
- Operate material handling equipment as needed.
- Generate reports on inventory levels and accuracy.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or certification in logistics or a related field is a plus. Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse operations. Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to perform moderate lifting (up to 30 lbs) and operate warehouse equipment. Good organizational and time management skills. Understanding of logistics processes and inventory best practices. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to safety protocols including PPE usage. This role is crucial for our logistics operations, ensuring efficient stock management and supporting overall warehouse productivity.
