We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Austin, Texas. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient receipt of all incoming goods. Your primary duties will include unloading trucks, inspecting shipments for damage or discrepancies, verifying order details against packing slips, and properly logging all received inventory into our warehouse management system. Maintaining a clean and organized receiving area is paramount to ensure smooth operations. You will collaborate closely with vendors, internal departments, and transportation partners to resolve any issues that may arise during the receiving process. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Adherence to all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), is mandatory. The ability to perform tasks requiring moderate to heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) is also essential. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks.
- Inspect goods for damage and verify quantities against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory system.
- Report discrepancies, damages, or quality issues to supervisors.
- Organize and stage received goods for efficient put-away.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving dock.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams regarding shipments.
- Follow all established safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Participate in inventory counts as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse role preferred. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Understanding of safety regulations and commitment to workplace safety. Experience with various types of material handling equipment is beneficial. This role demands a proactive approach and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet daily goals and contribute to the overall efficiency of our logistics operations.
