Our distribution center in Durham, North Carolina is looking for a dedicated Material Handler to join our dynamic team. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including moving materials, operating equipment, and assisting with the overall flow of goods within our logistics operations. Your role is critical in ensuring that our warehouse runs efficiently and effectively, supporting our commitment to timely order fulfillment and customer satisfaction. You will work with a variety of materials, ensuring they are handled safely and correctly. We emphasize a strong culture of Safety and provide all necessary training and PPE to ensure a secure working environment. Responsibilities:
- Move, sort, and stage materials throughout the warehouse.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling of all goods.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions.
- Support other warehouse functions as needed, such as order picking and packing.
- Contribute to efficient logistics operations by ensuring timely movement of goods.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the team.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is beneficial.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including consistent Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to all guidelines.
- Familiarity with hand tools and warehouse equipment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
