We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator for our San Diego, California distribution center. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within the warehouse. This role requires precision, experience, and a deep understanding of forklift operation and safety protocols. You will play a vital part in our logistics chain, ensuring goods are moved, stored, and retrieved effectively. A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, and retrieve inventory.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Ensure proper stacking and storage of goods to prevent damage and ensure stability.
- Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures to prevent accidents.
- Maintain accurate records of movements and inventory.
- Assist with general warehouse duties when not operating a forklift.
- Adhere to all traffic rules within the warehouse.
- Participate in inventory counts and checks.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification/license is required.
- Proven experience as a forklift operator, preferably in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Excellent understanding of forklift safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong spatial awareness and coordination.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be willing to wear required PPE, including safety glasses and vests.
- Commitment to a safe work environment is paramount.
