We are hiring a Picker/Packer in our Des Moines, Iowa distribution center! This role is fundamental to our logistics operations, ensuring that customer orders are accurately and efficiently assembled and prepared for shipment. You will utilize a handheld scanner to locate products in the warehouse, pick the correct items, and package them securely for transit. Attention to detail is critical to minimize errors and ensure customer satisfaction. Responsibilities:
- Receive and process pick lists using RF scanners or other designated equipment.
- Accurately retrieve specified items from warehouse shelves and storage locations.
- Inspect items for damage and ensure quality before packaging.
- Package items securely and efficiently according to company standards, ensuring product protection during transit.
- Label packages correctly for shipping.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, such as stocking shelves or organizing inventory.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to all safety guidelines and using required PPE.
- Meet or exceed established productivity and accuracy goals.
- Participate in cycle counts and inventory verification.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics process.
- Previous experience as a Picker/Packer or in a similar warehouse role is beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret pick lists and product labels.
- Proficiency with handheld scanning devices.
- Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to work at a steady pace and meet productivity targets.
- Comfortable performing tasks that involve frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and Lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and commitment to wearing appropriate PPE.
- Team player with strong communication skills.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts if needed.
- A commitment to excellence in a fast-paced logistics environment.
