We are looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our Houston, Texas logistics team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. This involves conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing strategies to minimize stockouts and overages. You will work closely with the warehouse management and operations teams to ensure that inventory data is precise and up-to-date. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of inventory management principles within a logistics environment. Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and efficiently.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement.
- Implement and manage inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy and reduce waste.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Collaborate with receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
- Develop and report on key inventory performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
- Assist in the training of new staff on inventory control procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics department.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a related role within a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Strong understanding of inventory management software and WMS.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to interpret and apply inventory control principles.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Comfortable with tasks that may involve some Lifting and moving of inventory, as needed.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following safety guidelines, including the use of PPE.
