Our Portland facility is looking for a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move materials within the warehouse, including loading and unloading trucks. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety are paramount. If you are a skilled forklift operator with a strong understanding of warehouse operations and safety protocols, we encourage you to apply for this critical position.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, pick, stack, load, and unload materials.
- Inspect the forklift before and after each shift, reporting any issues or needed repairs.
- Safely transport goods to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory management, including putting away stock and staging orders.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies, including proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring clear pathways for operation.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and accurately.
- Participate in daily safety briefings and contribute to a culture of safety.
- Support other warehouse and logistics functions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification required.
- Proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck).
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices for forklift operation.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent attention to detail and spatial awareness.
- Commitment to adhering to all safety guidelines, including the correct use of PPE.
- Understanding of basic logistics and inventory control principles.
