Our Washington, D.C. facility is seeking an organized and meticulous Receiving Clerk to manage the inflow of goods. This critical role ensures that all incoming shipments are accurately documented, inspected, and processed efficiently into our inventory system. You will be the first point of contact for deliveries, playing a vital part in maintaining the integrity of our supply chain and logistics operations. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks, verifying contents against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies, documenting any issues.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and organize incoming inventory for proper storage.
- Coordinate with carriers and internal departments to resolve receiving issues.
- Ensure the receiving area is kept clean, organized, and safe, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely to move incoming materials.
- Adhere to strict safety guidelines and use all required PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed, contributing to overall logistics efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a warehouse receiving or inventory role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and basic computer skills.
- Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment is a significant advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks related to loading/unloading.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE.
