We are looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Seattle, Washington. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and carrier requirements. Your duties will include preparing shipping documentation, verifying order details, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate shipping records. A keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills are crucial for success. You will also play a role in maintaining a safe working environment, adhering to all safety regulations and utilizing the correct PPE.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary shipping documents.
- Verify order details against shipping manifests to ensure accuracy.
- Schedule and coordinate pick-ups with various shipping carriers.
- Track shipments and provide updates to internal stakeholders as needed.
- Inspect outgoing packages for proper labeling and packaging.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments processed.
- Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding shipping status.
- Assist with receiving and processing incoming shipments as needed.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and utilize appropriate PPE.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the logistics department.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar administrative or warehouse role is preferred. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy are essential. Proficiency with shipping software and basic computer skills (MS Office, email). Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Understanding of shipping regulations and logistics processes is a plus. Must be able to perform light Lifting, typically up to 25 pounds. Knowledge of carrier requirements (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.). Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and correctly using PPE is mandatory.
