We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Order Pickers to join our busy warehouse facility in Richmond, Virginia. As an Order Picker, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive their orders accurately and on time. Your main responsibility will be to accurately pick products from warehouse shelves based on customer orders, using a handheld scanner or pick list. This involves navigating the warehouse efficiently, locating items, and ensuring the correct quantity and product type are selected. You will be responsible for carefully placing picked items into appropriate containers or onto carts for transport to the packing station. Maintaining a clean and organized work area is crucial for safety and efficiency. You must adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure your well-being. The physical demands of this role include significant walking, standing, and the ability to perform frequent lifting of items up to 35 lbs. This position is integral to our logistics operations, ensuring the smooth flow of goods and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from warehouse shelves according to order specifications.
- Utilize handheld scanners and pick lists to guide picking process.
- Verify product codes and quantities to ensure order accuracy.
- Place picked items into designated containers or onto carts.
- Transport picked orders to the packing or staging area.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper use of PPE.
- Report any stock discrepancies or issues to a supervisor.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior experience in a warehouse or order picking role is advantageous. Ability to read and interpret pick tickets or scanner data. Capable of performing repetitive lifting of up to 35 lbs. Must be comfortable walking and standing for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to logistics best practices. A positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment. Basic understanding of inventory control principles is helpful. This role is key to our efficient supply chain, requiring a dedicated individual focused on accuracy and speed in a dynamic logistics setting.
