Join our thriving logistics operation in Houston, Texas, as a Shipping Clerk! We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to ensure that all outgoing shipments are accurate, complete, and prepared for timely delivery. Your responsibilities will include picking, packing, and labeling products, generating shipping documentation, and coordinating with freight carriers. A strong understanding of shipping processes, meticulousness, and a commitment to workplace Safety are essential qualifications. You will play a crucial role in our supply chain, ensuring customer satisfaction through efficient and error-free order fulfillment. This role requires the ability to perform moderate Lifting and operate basic warehouse equipment. We prioritize a safe working environment and provide all necessary PPE. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and possesses strong problem-solving skills. Your accuracy and efficiency directly impact our operational success and customer retention. Experience with shipping software and carrier management is highly beneficial.
Responsibilities:
- Process outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Pick, pack, and label orders according to shipping requirements.
- Prepare and reconcile shipping documents, including Bills of Lading.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickups and deliveries.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure order accuracy and product integrity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping and receiving area.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Track shipments and resolve any delivery issues.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts as needed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related Logistics role is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting of up to 40 pounds.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of accuracy.
- Proficiency with shipping software and order management systems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Must wear required PPE, including safety footwear and high-visibility clothing.
- Understanding of warehouse Safety standards and procedures.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and committed to meeting shipping deadlines.
