Our client is a fast-growing, deeply technical company building large-scale infrastructure that enables access to vast amounts of publicly available web data.
*The Role*
We are looking for an experienced *Network Infrastructure Engineer* to join their Network Infrastructure team at their Data Centre based in *Ashburn, Virginia*. This role is hands-on and focused on designing, deploying, and maintaining *physical network and server infrastructure within a data centre environment*, while integrating seamlessly with cloud and containerized systems.
You will play a critical role in ensuring our infrastructure is scalable, secure, and highly reliable, directly supporting mission-critical data pipelines.
*Experience and Responsibilities*
*Infrastructure Design & Deployment*
* Design, configure, and deploy physical network infrastructure, including servers, switches, routers, firewalls, and cabling
* Build and maintain high-performance, low-latency network architectures within the data centre
* Configure virtualization environments and support application-level troubleshooting
* Ensure infrastructure solutions meet requirements for scalability, performance, and security
*Network & Systems Operations*
* Manage and maintain on-premise networking equipment (switches, routers, VPNs, firewalls)
* Monitor system health, network throughput, and reliability
* Identify and resolve infrastructure issues quickly to maintain uptime
* Implement improvements to enhance performance, resilience, and automation
*Automation & DevOps Collaboration*
* Use Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or similar) to standardize and automate deployments
* Work closely with engineering teams to integrate DevOps and SRE best practices
* Support containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes
* Implement monitoring and logging using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK
*Security & Compliance*
* Ensure systems are hardened, secure, and compliant with industry best practices
* Collaborate on access control, network segmentation, and secure connectivity
