Role Overview We’re looking for an enthusiastic
Area Sales Executive
to join our play-industry sales team. In this hands-on role, you’ll be the face of our brand—visiting HAGS’ core customers in the Local Authority, Housebuilder, Contractor and Education markets, as well as other prospects to generate leads, demonstrate our innovative playground and recreation solutions, and support the broader sales organization. This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their sales career who thrives on face-to-face interaction, loves building relationships, and is driven to exceed targets.
This role is based in the West Midlands, Staffordshire, Cheshire, M6 Corridor areas
Key Responsibilities
Research and identify new business opportunities in your territory (e.g. councils, housing developers, contractors).
Cold-call, email, and network to set up introductory meetings and identify immediate and future opportunities for quoting.
Field Visits & Presentations
Conduct on-site visits to fact find and understand customer needs. Identifying key requirements to enable collaboration with design and project teams to translate customer requirements into customized proposals. Where applicable presenting back to customers.
Carry out site surveys of the locations proposed locations (with the technology/tools provided), accurately recording all required details which enable transfer and interpretation by the design office personnel.
Grow as applicable, develop and maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all activities, leads, and opportunities in the CRM system, to enable the creation of a robust sales pipeline and deliver order realisation.
Follow up diligently on quotes and proposals to drive and where applicable negotiate opportunities to close.
Customer Relationship Building
Act as a trusted advisor—listen to feedback, address questions, and provide timely updates. Where needed drawing upon the expertise and support of other key personnel from within the business.
Develop and nurture long-term relationships that lead to repeat business opportunities, referrals and growth of HAGS’ network within the sales territory.
Gather insights on competitor offerings, pricing, and local trends, to inform the wider UK business to inform any appropriate actions alongside localised strategic activities.
Share feedback with sales leadership to refine positioning and product development.
Event Support
Assist with trade shows, and community events—setting up displays, engaging attendees, and capturing leads.
Key Skills & Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; degrees in Business, Marketing, Recreation, or related fields are a plus.
Experience:
0–2 years in sales, customer service, or a client-facing role (internships or part-time work count).
Field-based or B2B sales experience is advantageous but not required.
Core Competencies
Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently in a mobile environment.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort learning CRM systems (e.g., Dynamics, Salesforce, HubSpot).
Other Requirements
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly within the territory.
Ability to lift and transport product samples (up to 20 kg) when demonstrating equipment on site.
