Project Coordinator/Senior (6018)



SUMMARY:



Manage all activities related to assigned projects, ensuring they are performed in accordance with approved procedures, guidelines, specifications and regulatory requirements and within specific established budgetary and schedule goals and commitments.





EDUCATION:



Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business or Engineering. (Required)



Without a degree, five (5) years' experience in nuclear, commercial or industrial construction/engineering, operation or maintenance which primarily focused on project management, contractor management, scheduling and cost control.
 



EXPERIENCE:



Senior Project Coordinator:   Five (5) years' experience in nuclear, commercial or industrial construction/engineering or maintenance which primarily focused on project management, contractor management, scheduling and cost control, with a minimum of two (2) years being nuclear experience in dry cask storage. This position focuses primarily on dry cask storage.



Staff Project Coordinator:   Eight (8) years' experience in nuclear, commercial or industrial construction/engineering or maintenance which primarily focused on project management, contractor management, scheduling and cost control, with a minimum of five (5) years being nuclear experience.  Previous experience in coordinating complex projects. This position focuses primarily on dry cask storage
 



LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS


  • Project Management Institute Certification (Recommended)


  • SRO License or SRO Certification (Preferred)



DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:





Senior Project Coordinator:


  • Previous experience in any of the following Dry Cask Storage aspects required: Engineering, Operations, Training, Startup or Management. Field Experience in Dry Cask Storage Operations is desired.


  • Working knowledge of US Nuclear Safety Culture and 10CFR72 of the Code of Federal Regulations.


  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.  Ability to use MS PowerPoint, MS Visio and MS Project or equivalent products desired.


  • Ability to effectively communicate and solve problems in collaboration with individuals and groups.


  • Reviews design change packages for Dry Cask Storage impact and implements follow-up actions.


  • Reviews engineering analyses and reports for vendor and regulatory compliance.  Supports report implementation.


  • Reviews station programs and procedures for Operational Quality Assurance Program compliance. Provides implementation recommendations.


  • Reviews station programs and procedures for vendor and regulatory compliance. Changes station program and procedures in accordance with site requirements as a certified procedure writer.


  • Reviews station training and provides recommendations. Supports training development and implementation.


  • Maintains a matrix of regulatory and vendor requirements for driving and verifying the station's compliance profile.


  • Coordinates with the station licensing group to prepare, execute and document NRC inspections.


  • Reports to the Supervisor, Strategic Projects (SFMP)


     


     



Staff Project Coordinator:

  • All skills/knowledge/qualifications of a Senior Project Coordinator and:

  • Ability to coordinate stakeholders' involvement to ensure project completion in a timely, quality, and cost effective manner.

  • Ability to coordinate several concurrent project activities.

  • Ability to organize and conduct effective meetings regarding specific projects.

  • Ability to develop milestone and integrated activity schedules.



 



OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Accept ERO position as needed.


  • Accept outage position as needed.


  • Perform special projects, inspections, and audits as assigned.


  • Temporary assignment to Projects Department Supervisor as needed.



  



SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS


  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.


  • Ability to perform field walk downs of work activities in the plant.


  • Ability to identify direct and support tasks necessary to successfully complete assigned project. Ability to manage contractor work activities. Thorough knowledge of performance measurement techniques.


  • Ability to monitor budget and schedule activities, as well as to identify unanticipated changes in budget and schedule and the impact of these changes.


  • Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written). Ability to write clear, concise, and complete reports. Strong computer skills - ability to use spreadsheet, database and scheduling software.


  • Ability to coordinate several concurrent project activities. Ability to organize and conduct effective meetings regarding specific projects. Ability to develop milestone and integrated activity schedules.
