Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Extrusion Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing extrusion equipment to ensure safe and efficient production. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with extrusion machinery, strong mechanical and electrical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on extrusion machines, pelletizers, chillers, conveyors, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Complete maintenance work orders and maintain accurate documentation of repairs and inspections.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and company policies.
• Collaborate with production teams to support efficient operation of extrusion lines.
• Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements to increase reliability and efficiency.
• Maintain tools, spare parts inventory, and a clean, organized work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.
• Minimum 2–3 years of industrial maintenance experience (extrusion or plastics manufacturing experience strongly preferred).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical controls (PLC experience a plus).
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a 24/7 production environment.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or off-shifts as needed.
• Ability to respond quickly to emergencies to help reduce downtime.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work in hot and and noisy environments.
• Must be able to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and reach as required for repairs.
