Job Description

The Facilities Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations at the metal manufacturing facility, including production equipment, building systems, and infrastructure. This role ensures the facility and machinery operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. The Facilities Maintenance Manager leads the maintenance team, develops preventive maintenance programs, coordinates repairs, and ensures compliance with safety and operational standards.

Essential Functions

  • Lead, supervise, and train maintenance personnel in daily tasks and safety procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for roll formers, shears, forklifts, compressors, and other production equipment.
  • Maintain building systems including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and structural components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Prioritize maintenance work to minimize production interruptions.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, and inventory of parts and tools.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or projects.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety regulations.
  • Participate in equipment installations, upgrades, and facility improvement projects.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, purchase orders, and supply needs.
  • Respond promptly to emergency repairs or facility issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in facility and equipment maintenance, preferably in metal manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with roll formers, shears, coil lines, forklifts, and other production machinery.
  • Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in maintenance tracking systems (CMMS) and basic computer applications.
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Work performed in a metal manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
  • May work at heights or in confined spaces during maintenance tasks.
  • Must wear required PPE (steel-toed boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection).
  • May require occasional overtime, weekend, or on-call availability.
