Summary

Hyatt Centric Key West Resort & Spa is seeking an experienced and service‑driven Operations Manager to support and elevate the daily operations of our restaurant, bar, pool deck service, in‑room dining, banquets and resort‑wide beverage experiences. While this role is primarily focused within the Food & Beverage division, it will also provide support to the Rooms Division—including Front Office and Housekeeping—on an as‑needed basis to ensure a seamless and cohesive guest experience throughout the property. This role offers the opportunity to lead a vibrant team, contribute to strategic initiatives, and help create memorable experiences that reflect the lively spirit of Key West and the elevated service expected at Hyatt.

Primary Responsibilities

Food & Beverage Operations

The Operations Manager plays a hands‑on role in ensuring the smooth execution of all dining and beverage services. Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing daily operations of the restaurant, bar, pool deck, banquets, and in‑room dining.
  • Supporting staffing, scheduling, training, and daily communication to ensure service excellence.
  • Maintaining Hyatt brand standards related to quality, cleanliness, presentation, and service delivery.
  • Monitoring guest feedback and ensuring timely and effective service recovery.
  • Collaborating with the Culinary team and Sales for events, activations, and group functions.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, alcohol service laws, and POS procedures.

Rooms Division Support (As Needed)

While Food & Beverage is the primary focus, the role includes cross‑departmental support to ensure overall guest satisfaction. When needed, responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting the Front Office team with guest arrival flow, service recovery, and lobby presence during high‑volume periods.
  • Supporting Housekeeping leadership with room readiness checks, property walk‑throughs, cleanliness standards, and coordination for early arrivals, VIP guestrooms, and special events.
  • Working collaboratively with Rooms leaders to maintain a consistent and welcoming guest experience across all touchpoints.

Leadership & Collaboration

The Food & Beverage Operations Manager serves as a key leader on property, helping to cultivate a positive and high-performing culture. Leadership responsibilities include:

  • Mentoring, coaching, and motivating a diverse team of Food & Beverage colleagues.
  • Promoting a culture of inclusion, respect, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Supporting departmental budgeting, labor planning, and operational goal‑setting.
  • Partnering effectively with Rooms, Engineering, Culinary, and Sales to deliver a seamless resort experience.

Qualifications

  • Strong desire to anticipate and meet the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in general computer knowledge, including working knowledge of point of sale (POS) systems.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of food and beverage, including wine, spirits, and beer.
  • Previous hotel and restaurant experience is required.
  • 2+ years of experience as an F&B or Banquet Assistant Manager (preferred).
  • Supervisory experience in F&B or Banquets is a must.
  • Ability to work with a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
