Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Nursing Assistant / Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. This role provides essential support in delivering high-quality patient care across various settings, including long-term care, assisted living, hospitals, and outpatient clinics. Duties
- Administer prescribed medications accurately following established protocols and HIPAA guidelines
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, mobility, and hygiene care
- Support patients with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and behavioral health conditions
- Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care and phlebotomy to prevent infection
- Operate medical equipment including Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices to ensure safe patient handling
- Document all patient interactions and treatments accurately in EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in acute care, post-acute care, outpatient clinics, or home & community settings
- Maintain compliance with infection control protocols and safety standards in accordance with OSHA guidelines
- Provide compassionate patient service while respecting privacy and confidentiality under HIPAA regulations
Experience
- Prior experience in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living communities is preferred
- Critical care experience including ICU, emergency medicine, or Level I/II trauma centers is advantageous
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, patients with disabilities or developmental disabilities is desirable
- Familiarity with medical-surgical units, post-acute care environments, or home health settings enhances suitability for this role
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, catheter care, and infection control practices is essential
- Certification as a CNA or Medication Technician is required; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are preferred
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks will support effective documentation and patient management
