Rainbow Energy Marketing Corporation has been engaged in the wholesale power marketing and trading business since 1994. Our company is growing, and we are looking to add a Settlements Analyst to the team. Must be a self-starter, effective problem-solver, and able to work as a team player. Experience in Energy/Oil/Gas industry preferred but not required.

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Settlement Analyst to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for daily monitoring of ISO settlements and transmission, will ensure timely and accurate settlement of all physical and financial transactions related to power generation including Broker settlements, identify and resolve billing discrepancies and provide support for other activities. The successful candidate is expected to become a subject matter expert in the assigned power markets and in the business functional area. The incumbent will directly collaborate with team members, project groups, information technology and cross functional teams to support continuous process improvements and changing business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Timely Contract Review and Analysis:

  • Confirm pricing and determine billing requirements.
  • Identify any non-routine billings or unique agreements and develop processes for systematic reconciliation.
  • Compare billing systems pricing information with contracts and amendments to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Billing reviews:

  • Shadow settlement of ISO invoices.
  • Review completeness of monthly and other periodic billings.
  • Contact counterparties to timely resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Settle Transmission monthly invoices

Communication:

  • Work and communicate with various internal groups to compile and analyze data, including Contract Administration, Front and Middle Offices, Accounting, Financial Reporting, Treasury, Credit, Information Technology (IT) and Legal.

Process Improvements:

  • Acting as a change agent to identify and implement process improvements to promote best practices

Audit Support:

  • Interface with auditors to provide information and support as requested

Regulatory reporting:

  • Quarterly filing of FERC EQR.

Required skills and candidate qualities

  • Advanced fundamental Excel skills required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, economics or finance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office with advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex IF/THEN statements).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50, $70,500.00 per year
