Reading and Writing Elementary Tutor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Elementary tutor for a 1th grader for Reading and Writing. Tutoring to take place In-person in the student's home. Weekday tutoring is requried 1-2/hours a week.

NO Online tutoring for this student.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and be able to provide academic and motivational support, engagement with kindness, care and commitment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one tutoring using positive reinforcement and building self confidence.

• Skilled tutoring, teaching using the student's own curriculum and real time assignments.

• Ability to simplify concepts, and help build better study habits and organizational skills if needed.

• Help to improve academic performance and praise small victories with a step by step approach.

• Assist students with guidance and understanding of course materials, meeting their individual academic needs.

• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum Bachelor's degree.

• Proficiency in elementary core curriculum subjects is required.

• Minimum 2 years experience working with Elementary students.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain goals and concepts clearly.

• Simplify concepts and adaptability with different student learning styles.

• Basic technical skills for reporting sessions on our tutor platform, writing concise student progress notes, problem solver and communicate in a timely manner.

Our tutor rate is $32/hour for In-Home or Online tutoring. All tutors are remote.
