JOB TITLE: Maintenance Clerk
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED.
Reasonable degree of proficiency in typing.
Working knowledge of basic office procedures and the operation of common office equipment.
Demonstrates adequate public relation skills.
Must pass a National Criminal History Record Check.

REPORTS TO: Assistant Maintenance Director, Maintenance Director
JOB GOAL: To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the Maintenance office so that the office's maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized.
DUTIES:
Greets all visitors to the office in a friendly, helpful, courteous manner.
Answers the telephone for the department in such a manner as to establish and maintain good relations will all facility personnel requesting service or information from the department, making decisions concerning each call as to its priority. Record messages.
Remain calm and in control during any difficult situation.
Handles messages, notifications, requests and work orders; determines that they are processed properly and forwarded to the proper individual or department to insure swift, accurate results as determined by the request.
Checks and corrects source information to be typed concerning all of the following: Capitalization, spelling, grammar, paragraphing, accuracy of any reference cited, collection and assembly of enclosures, clarity of meaning.
Presents material in final form except when draft is requested.
Maintains filing for department records, purchasing and related materials.
Responsible for data entries, data reports, and data files on the computer.
Confers with vendors on orders for purchase, delivery, and accuracy. Types purchase requests and requisitions.
Logs all completed work orders, calculates totals and breaks down forms for filing by designated facility.
Compute facility operations and maintenance totals for preventive and corrective reports.
Assist in compiling data for reports and maintaining records.
Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Maintenance Director or Maintenance Director.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to the public and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to cooperate in a team effort with other employees.
