Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Rheumatology

Discover a rewarding career where you can make a lasting impact on patients' lives.
Our Rheumatology team is growing, and we're looking for a compassionate, motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join us in Peoria, AZ. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside an experienced physician and a supportive care team in an outpatient setting, helping patients manage chronic conditions and improve their quality of life.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history, physical examinations, and review of diagnostic results.
  • Partner with our rheumatologist to evaluate and care for patients with autoimmune and musculoskeletal conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, and more.
  • Order and interpret labs, imaging, and other tests to support clinical decisions.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medications, including disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) and biologic therapies, in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding disease process, medication management, lifestyle modifications, and self-care strategies.
  • Collaborate with rheumatologist, nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
  • Perform joint injections and aspirations (training provided if needed).
  • Document patient encounters and maintain accurate, timely medical records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and professional development activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by collaborating physician.

What We're Looking For

  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner (Master's or Doctorate) with national certification (ANCC or AANP) or Licensed Physician Assistant with national certification (NCCPA).
  • Arizona NP or PA license with prescriptive authority (or eligibility).
  • Background in rheumatology, internal medicine, or a related specialty is a plus — but we're happy to provide training if you're eager to learn.
  • Strong clinical skills, but just as importantly, strong communication and compassion.
  • A collaborative spirit and a desire to build long-term relationships with patients.

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • No nights, weekends, or call — enjoy work-life balance in an outpatient setting.
  • A collegial team that values teaching, mentorship, and shared decision-making.
  • Competitive salary plus productivity incentives.
  • Comprehensive benefits package: health, dental, vision, retirement, CME allowance, and paid time off.
  • The chance to grow your career in a highly specialized field that makes a tangible difference in patients' lives.
