Degreed Tutor

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Degreed Tutor specializing in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics for Elementary and Middle School students. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in curriculum development, literacy education, and working with children across diverse learning needs. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' academic growth by providing personalized tutoring in a supportive environment. Candidates with experience in early childhood education, special education, or classroom management are highly encouraged to apply. Fluency in Spanish is a plus, as well as familiarity with learning technology and lesson planning.

Duties

• Deliver engaging and effective tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs in ELA and Math for elementary and middle school levels
• Develop and adapt curriculum materials to align with educational standards and student learning goals
• Utilize various learning technologies to enhance instruction and student engagement
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
• Implement classroom management techniques to foster a positive learning environment
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and educational staff to support student success
• Incorporate literacy education strategies, writing skills development, and special education practices when appropriate
• Plan lessons that promote critical thinking, literacy, numeracy, and overall academic skills
• Support students with diverse backgrounds, including those requiring additional childcare or preschool experience

Skills

• Proven experience in tutoring or teaching elementary and middle school students in ELA and Math
• Strong curriculum development skills with the ability to create customized lesson plans
• Proficiency with learning technology platforms and digital educational tools
• Excellent classroom management skills to maintain a productive learning environment
• Exceptional writing skills for lesson planning and student assessment documentation
• Experience working with children of various ages, including early childhood education or preschool experience
• Knowledge of special education strategies to support diverse learning needs
• Effective communication skills for engaging students, parents, and colleagues
• Passion for fostering literacy education and supporting student achievement through innovative teaching methods

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
